build your own fabric filter

Fabrics can be tricky to handle and usually your no-budget set won’t have an overabundance of hands (camera assistants, that is). Consider building your own fabric-filter-holder by cutting a rectangular frame out of cardboard, plastic or any other suitable material and attach the fabric using binder clips (sometimes called paper clamps, foldover clips or bobby clips). This simple filter-holder can then be attached to e.g. a shoulder rig (for a DIY option see the chapter build your own shoulder rig↗).
